Joe getting ready at the Hotel Colonnade in Coral Gables. Here a close up of the cuff links, and the tie is left undone. I love this shot because of the lighting, and texture I was able to create. I had two windows to work with, and I sandwiched him between them. The light here coming in from each side, and makes for a very "detail rich" shot. I have Joe facing one of the main windows as a "key" light, and I am shooting him from the shadow side.
Guy's generally DON'T like photos of them getting ready. They just do it to "go along with the day". Joe here was no different. In fact, I think I only had his attention for about 5 min before he said he was all done. Ironically it seems the more "upscale" my clients are the less time they want to give for creative ideas. They often expect me to do things, and do them VERY quickly, AND make them look amazing. So, this is something I am used too.. but, in spite of that.. THAT is really hard to do, and something I am proud to say that I can in fact do in most situations. I often use my own personality to get me out of situations, this never fails as I have a gift in that regard. In fact here is a short video showcasing my personality, and how I work with the guys on the wedding day!
