I truly love the Addison Weddings in Boca Raton. It's a very small, cozy place that has some real beauty to it. Ironically, for this shot I am not going to show any of that. Nope.. I am going to show you a shot that was taken just moments before the ceremony, while the bride was waiting inside the main house. It was late in the day, and I saw all the shadows coming from the sun hitting the blinds. The bride actually went over to close them, and I stopped her :-)
I said.. "here.. let me get you right over here for just a second". I placed her near the wall, and I carefully watched her face in relation to the hard shadows. I instructed her to lower her face until I saw here eyes perfect between the slats. When I did, I exposed for the hard light and had this shot. Took all of 10 seconds. I then went over and closed the blinds and said "okay, I will see you down the isle". in the same breath I showed her my camera screen and smiled. She laughed, and knew right then in there.. "I HIRED A REAL PRO". I could see it in her face, and it was a nice little send off for the ceremony.
Again.. it's nice to have nice locations all around you. But, you need to really consider where the LIGHT is, and make that work.
